About
World news, verified before it's published.
BreakingHour is an independent round-the-clock world news publication. We publish one verified story every 30 minutes, around the clock — international events, politics, markets, technology, science, health, sport and culture — with our flagship World & Breaking News desk covering the stories that cross borders.
The news cycle moves faster than verification usually allows, and that gap is where most errors are born. Our answer is a simple rule: no breaking claim is published until it has been checked against at least two independent primary sources. Being second and right beats being first and wrong, every time.
Developing stories are updated in place, on the same article, with timestamped live updates — so readers can follow a story as it moves without chasing a trail of near-duplicate reports. When we get something wrong, we correct it openly and say so on the article itself.
BreakingHour accepts no payment in exchange for coverage, and no commercial relationship influences what we report or how we report it. We carry no affiliate content and no sponsored stories. Our full standards are set out in our editorial policy, and our corrections process in our corrections policy.
If you have a news tip, a correction, or a press enquiry, write to us — see our contact page.
The newsroom
Every story on BreakingHour is published under the collective byline BreakingHour Newsroom. The newsroom verifies and publishes every story against our editorial policy.
The newsroom works around the clock, publishing one verified story every 30 minutes. No breaking claim is published until it has been checked against at least two independent primary sources, and every AI-assisted draft is reviewed and approved by a human editor before publication.
