Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 November 2026

BreakingHour collects the minimum data needed to run this site. This policy explains what that is, why we collect it, and what rights you have.

When you visit the site, our hosting provider records standard server logs: your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. We use these logs to keep the site running, spot abuse and understand which articles readers find useful. We do not use this data to identify you personally.

If you email us — a news tip, a correction, a press enquiry — we keep your email address and the contents of your message for as long as needed to respond and follow up. We do not sell that information, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to operate the site, for example our hosting provider, which stores data on our behalf. If you share information with us in confidence as a source, we protect your identity.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address so we can send you updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, and we will delete your address from our mailing list.

We do not run advertising on this site, and we do not use advertising cookies or tracking cookies. The site uses only cookies that are strictly necessary for it to operate. If we introduce analytics or advertising in future, we will update this policy first and explain what changes.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties except as needed to operate the site — for example, our hosting provider, which stores data on our behalf.

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes described above. Server logs are retained for a limited period; email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to deal with the matter it concerns; newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

You can ask us at any time what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@breakinghour.blog. We will respond within a reasonable time.

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data, but no internet service is completely secure. If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and the change will take effect from the date shown.

If you have questions about this policy, contact us at hello@breakinghour.blog.
